October 2024 // Client Work
In collaboration with the Content Lab graphic design club at VTSU Castleton, I contributed to the creation of a student voter campaign aimed at increasing voter engagement among students. The initiative was spearheaded by Rich Clark, a Political Science professor, who approached our club for assistance in designing materials that would resonate with the student body.
Given that Castleton had previously run a campaign titled "Sparty Votes," and with the recent
integration into VTSU, it was essential to establish a new identity for this voter drive.
Our team convened during a club meeting to brainstorm and develop graphic standards that
would unify our materials. Through collaborative discussions and iterative design processes,
we refined our approach to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all campaign assets.
While some team members focused on creating targeted posters for athletic programs, I concentrated on designing more general promotional materials. These materials were intended for distribution by the Student Government across various campuses within the VTSU system. The goal was to produce designs that were adaptable and could be utilized broadly to reach a diverse student audience.
The experience of working on this project underscored the importance of collaboration and adaptability in design. It also highlighted the role that graphic design plays in civic engagement, demonstrating how visual communication can inspire action and foster a sense of community among students.
