Content Lab Promotional Material

January 2025 // Personal

Content Lab is a student-led graphic design club at Vermont State University Castleton, dedicated to collaborating on real-world projects for local businesses and organizations on campus. I'm incredibly grateful to my Co-President, Ruben Somda, for entrusting me with significant responsibilities within the club. What began as a means to remain at the Castleton campus instead of transferring back to Lyndon evolved into a transformative experience. Through Content Lab, I've grown not only as a graphic designer but also as a professional, gaining invaluable real-world experience.

As we approached the Spring 2025 semester, our team aimed to enhance our visibility and encourage more engagement. One of our creative promotional initiatives was developing a set of trading cards - a concept that started as a lighthearted joke but quickly gained traction, especially with Ruben's enthusiasm. We dedicated an entire Friday to designing these cards, which we planned to distribute during the spring semester club fair.

Anticipating that the trading cards might not resonate with everyone, as most of them were references or inside jokes within Content Lab and the Graphic Design program, we also designed a poster that could be scaled down into smaller handouts. I focused on maintaining consistent branding by utilizing our established fonts, colors, and iconography. A prominent feature of the design was a QR code accompanied by a clear call to action, ensuring easy access to more information about Content Lab and getting in contact with us.

This project was not only a fun and creative endeavor but also a testament to our team's adaptability and commitment to effective communication. It reinforced the importance of innovative thinking in promotional design and the value of cohesive branding in engaging our campus community.
