April 2024 // Assignment
This brochure was designed to showcase the life and works of Edvard Munch, one of Norway's most iconic artists, while also promoting the Munch Museet in Oslo. The goal was to capture the essence of Munch's emotional and expressive style, using a design that mirrored the boldness and intensity of his work.
The color scheme was inspired directly by some of Munch's most famous pieces, such as The Scream, drawing from his use of vivid, often contrasting colors to evoke deep emotional responses. To further emphasize the emotional impact of his art, the layout was intentionally designed with asymmetry and dynamic positioning, reflecting the tension and movement present in his paintings. The brochure layout was crafted to not only inform but to immerse the reader in the world of Munch, offering a glimpse into his artistic journey and the profound themes explored in his works, including existential dread, love, and loss.
The brochure aimed to encourage viewers to experience the Munch Museet not just as a museum, but as a space where the raw emotion of Munch’s art can be felt and understood.
