To much of the Dead by Daylight community's dismay, I am (unfortunately) a
Sable Ward main. And yes, I do think she's pretty, but honestly, I started
playing her because of her perks. They're super niche, widely considered not
very good, and that's exactly what made them interesting to me. I get the most
fun out of finding ways to make “bad” things work, and while calling my
survivor gameplay strong might be a stretch, it's that underdog vibe that
made me really connect with Sable, and ultimately inspired me to build
her in LEGO.
After doing a bit of research, I realized there aren't many Dead by Daylight
LEGO creations out there. I found one BrickHeadz version of Sable Ward, but it
wasn't quite my style. That said, it still served as a reference point as I
started designing my own.
Originally, I gave her bright pink tips in her hair, mostly inspired by that earlier
BrickHeadz example, but after taking a closer look at in-game references (and realizing
I was just projecting what I wanted her hair to look like), I swapped them out for a few
more subtle, accurate highlights. It helped clean up the model and brought it closer to
her actual design.
While she's not the most complex build I've done, everything came together pretty
smoothly, and I'm really happy with how she turned out. She's simple, recognizable,
and, in my completely biased opinion, a fun little tribute to one of my favorite characters!
